Does Mederma Get Rid of Acne Scars?
Mederma® is a topical skin care product that many believe can help get rid of acne scars over time. The effectiveness of any topical cream or gel can depend greatly on the type of scar that is present, the person’s skin type, and the age of the scar. In general, people with newer scars claim that Mederma® helped to get rid of their acne scars within a few months of use. Others say that it only diminished the appearance of the scars within that time frame, but after a year or more of use the scars are much less noticeable.
Acne scars form when collagen is produced to fill in areas of damaged tissue on the skin. Since collagen fibers in scar tissues connect to each other differently than normal skin tissue, the scar is a noticeable spot on the skin.
